In writing this I went all the way around from craving some sort of aesthetic coherence to wondering if some sort of creative free-for-all that lets all these different strains thrive is truer to the UK’s culture and history. I will look up Reggie either way, thank you!
Yeah I tend to think pluralism and aesthetic coherence can coexist because they always have done - eg london's blended architecture. But I guess a CD could work out what to lift up and propel globally
